In Memory…

I am signing off for the weekend to enjoy this Memorial Day weekend — Please take this time to not only enjoy an extra day off, but to reflect and give thanks to those who have served and are still currently serving our country. We remember you. We honor you. We give you thanks.

The above photo was taken during my trip to Hawaii; it is of the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. I find it quite fitting for this post. Hundreds of our serviceman lay entombed inside of the USS Arizona. For them, this is their final resting place. Thank you for sacrificing your lives, every single day. This is to you. You will never be forgotten.

I’ll be back on Tuesday with an exciting announcement. Until then, enjoy a little bit of sun…

I’m Back!

Although I had an AMAZING time in Hawaii, it feels so good to be back home :) I will get into more detailed posts about Hawaii at a later time, but since I started my *new* job today, my blogging might be a little minimal for the next few days.

In the mean time, here’s a little sneak peek of my lovely little vaca. I snapped this pic while cruising the North Shores of Oahu; just a group of keiki’s (kids) enjoying their island backyard. So jealous.

I’ll try to get back to my regular bloggin’ schedule as soon as possible :) Until then, you have a few more days to enter your project into the GREAT DIY PARTY CHALLENGE! If the prizes don’t lure you into creating a fun project, then I don’t know what will!

Update: Challenge extended to Easter Monday, April 25th :)

Hawaii

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! On Friday, I mentioned that I had some exciting news… unfortunately, I am NOT ready with that just yet! Crossing my fingers I’ll be able to let you all into the scoop in the next few days :) GET EXCITED cause it involves every single one of YOU!

In the meantime, I do have to let you know about some personal news… I’m leaving to Hawaii in a few days! This trip couldn’t have come at a better time — Last week was my last day at my old job, and it feels nice to go on a REAL vacation without coming home to lingering projects. I start my new job as soon as I get back — ekk! :) I am so excited to be going back to my second home (I grew up there) — and this time, I’ll have Bren with me, woo.

But before I go, I have a little secret & confession — I have been borderline obsessed with a pretty wahine that calls Hawaii her home… I’ve been internet stalking her for the past few years because she is quite the photographer & I’m a HUGE fan of her work. Her name is Brooklyn Dombroski and she is one talented sista! I love how she uses every inch of Hawaii as her stage and backdrop to the most beautiful and stunning photos. I feel like such a fangirl, but I can’t help it! Her pictures are getting me so pumped…

With that being said, if you are planning on ordering anything from my shop, the last day I will be shipping will be on Wednesday, April 6th at 12:00pm (pacific standard time) — So get your orders in! I will resume shipping on Thursday, April 14th! Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

xoxo

I’m off to San Francisco for an all work, no play day trip, but I’ll be leaving you with the perfect eye candy for this Wednesday! Aside from loving pretty pretty paper and event design, I have a nice little infatuation for photography. Don’t we all? ;) — Here is a teaser from the mega talented husband & wife team of We Are The Rhoades, Sarah & Chris. Their photos are so effortless, yet so full of life. If interested, they are based out of my favorite rainy city, Seattle but available for travel worldwide. Enjoy!

God is good. If you’re following me on twitter, then you might already know that I quit my job today & accepted a new position! I’m really happy — This is definitely a good thing & I’m excited to continue to grow and learn in this industry that I am in love with. When you are passionate about something, you really don’t think twice. I am so fortunate for these opportunties and I feel so blessed :)

Anyway, since I am in such a good mood right now, here is another thing that makes me happy… food! Well, breakfast to be exact! I came across this foodie blog not too long ago and I’ve been hooked since. It really is a simple concept, blog author, Jen really loves breakfast… and she enjoys taking picture of them, too! Her tagline says it all, “the art of breakfast” — Brilliant. Simply Breakfast is my cup of tea (no pun intended). I adore the photos she takes and all of her meals look so delicious, too!
