SUMMA SUMMA TIME
Hello everyone :) Thank you ALL for stickin’ around while I try to make sense of the non-stop craziness that has become my life — However, I wouldn’t change it for a thing! It’s good to be busy & livin’ with a purpose. I have to admit that I’ve struggling a little bit with balancing it all: Relationships, work, blog, my business. I am not perfect, nor will I ever claim to be, but one thing that has kept me pedaling through it all is the fact that I don’t want to let myself down. I’ve worked too hard to let it fall through my fingers. Sometimes you just have to realize how blessed you are, and accept it. You have to realize that between all those moments of crippling fear, everything has the potential to be really beautiful. So let it.
Anyway, moving on…
I’m really excited for summer — There’s something about growing up on an island and soaking up the sun while taking in the cool breezes. This year, I hope to add the sweetness of summer cocktails to my agenda. Cheers to you & discovering your yummy summer treat! :)

Bake For Hope
This past Sunday, I participated in Bake For Hope, a nation-wide bake sale that is 100% volunteer run with ALL the proceeds being donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure affiliates. I have volunteered with this organization for the past 3 years and have watched it grow and multiply, especially within the group of friends I have.
This year, I decided to make….

It’s cute to look at, easy to make… and yummy to eat. They are not hard to put together at all, so if you need a nice little party favor or dessert idea, give it a whirl!

Bren baked some peanut butter cookies with his own concoction of fixings — They were a hit.
This year, we were located right outside of Aloha Sushi + Just Lov3 Bowtique in La Jolla. It was a perfect, sunny day for a bake sale.

As for a brief update on how much we made, it was almost $500 :) Not bad at all for a few hours! Thank you to everyone who stopped by & purchased some sugary goodies! Can’t wait for next year :)

Fighting It Off

A weird thing is happening to my body right now. I don’t feel sick, but I know something is going on. My throat is sore and I’m extra exhausted… So, just as a precaution, I’m drowning myself in tea. I’m not a huge tea drinker, but I hear there that it can give you extra supernatural abilities.. or maybe just antioxidants? Hehe. Anyway, I’m laying low for the next few days, so in the mean time, don’t forget to sign up for the mega giveaway & tell all your friends! So excited to announce the winner next week. I wish you all could have one, I really do! It’s my favorite toy right now and I can not wait to show you what I’ve made with it so far :)
Be back tomorrow!

Simply Breakfast
God is good. If you’re following me on twitter, then you might already know that I quit my job today & accepted a new position! I’m really happy — This is definitely a good thing & I’m excited to continue to grow and learn in this industry that I am in love with. When you are passionate about something, you really don’t think twice. I am so fortunate for these opportunties and I feel so blessed :)
Anyway, since I am in such a good mood right now, here is another thing that makes me happy… food! Well, breakfast to be exact! I came across this foodie blog not too long ago and I’ve been hooked since. It really is a simple concept, blog author, Jen really loves breakfast… and she enjoys taking picture of them, too! Her tagline says it all, “the art of breakfast” — Brilliant. Simply Breakfast is my cup of tea (no pun intended). I adore the photos she takes and all of her meals look so delicious, too!

Wedding Donut Bar
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend :)
I’m in the process of trying to get as warm as possible here at my desk, and after viewing these wonderful photos of a wedding dessert donut bar, it’s already making me all fuzzy inside. Best feeling ever! And if you don’t believe me… then take a peek below! It’s an absolutely stunning display of gourmet donuts. They look so delicious. And I’m probably not the first to admit this, but I firmly believe that donuts are going to be the new cupcakes!
I love how they decided to do a donut and coffee tasting theme. I love food/drink tastings parties! I threw a beer & wine tasting for my friends awhile back and it was such a hit… I am now interested in throwing my own donut & coffee party. Yum!
